- 1 Corinthians 12:13
- There was no church in the Old Testament
- Just a blueprint
- There was no church during Christ's earthly ministry
- Just a promise
- And a prayer

- The Church into existence through:
- The death of Christ (Ephesians 2)
- The resurrection and ascension of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13)
- 1 Corinthians 12:13
- For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit
- Baptized into the Spirit
- Initiating a new era
- This baptism occurred firstly on the day of Pentecost to the Jews
- "And there appeared to them tongues of fire ... and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit ..." Acts 2:3-4
- And secondly at the house of Cornelius to the Gentiles
- Baptized into the Spirit
- Initiating a new era
- The baptism of the Spirit changed the world
- The non-church age became the age of the church
- The blueprint became a reality
- 1 Corinthians 12:13
- For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit
- Baptized into the Body of Christ
- Inheriting a new life-style
- Those alienated and far off became fellow citizens of the saints (Ephesians 2:11-12, 19)
- The lonely strangers became members of a loving family (Ephesians 2:19)
- Baptized into the Body of Christ
- Inheriting a new life-style
- Those who once were haunted by demons (addictions, lusts, temper, etc) became a temple of God (Ephesians 2:22)
- Those dwelling in darkness became the light of the world (Matthew 4:14-16)
- Once having a purposeless existence, but now a part of the bride being prepared for her husband (Ephesians 3:11; 5:32; Rev2elation 21:)
- 1 Corinthians 12:13
- For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit
- Drinking of the Spirit
- Experiencing a new reality
- The Spirit is the reality of Christ and the work of Christ
- "But when He, the Spirit of reality comes, He will guide you into all the reality ... All that the Father has is Mine ... He receives of Mine and will declare it to you." John 16:13, 15.
- The church is not our talk, but our experience. It is real.
- The church is not our doctrine, it is our daily reality
- The church is not merely our stand, it is our experience
- 1 Corinthians 12:13
- For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit
- Oneness
- Entering into a divine existence
- Paul deliberately emphasizes the word, "one," in this verse
- The era of the church is the era of the oneness of the human race
- It is not man-madeāit is the divine oneness that Jesus prayed about in John 17, a oneness created by the Trinity
- So in Ephesians 4:3, Paul exhorts us to "keep" the oneness of the Spirit.
- Oneness is a fact! Believe it and receive it!
- 1 Corinthians 12:13
- For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit
