  • Church Life in it's Most Pure And Biblical Form
    • How Do We Apply the Vision of the Church?
    • Who are We?
    • What Should the Church Look Like?
    • Where there is no vision the people cast off restraint (run wild, become demoralized); but happy is he that keepeth the law (the Word) (Prov.29:18).
  • The Lord did not leave a handbook on how to practice The Church
    • Two items necessary to go on:
      • The Spirit
      • The Word of God
    • But when *he* is come, the Spirit of truth, he shall guide you into all the truth...(Jn.16:13)
    • Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psa. 119:105).
    • The church is the called out assembly of the Body of Christ
  • Where do we assemble?
    • In the Temple
    • From house to house
    • And day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house...(Acts 2:46)
    • What is a local church?
    • The application, practice, and substantiation of the vision of the Body of Christ
    • Why do we call ourselves the church in Pittsburgh?
    • The church is not so much our name as it is what we are
    • And we are here in the city of Pittsburgh
    • Complications came in between Peter's ministry and Paul's (Acts 15)
    • Studying Paul's experience correlates with our experience of modern Christianity.
      • A. Diversity of cultures and backgrounds produced animosity and division among the believers
      • Differing practices led to churches becoming divided from one another (Acts 15)
      • Rallying around different ministries caused division among the believers (1Cor.1)
    • The practical church life should:
      • Have Christ as our content
      • Have the freedom and authority of the Spirit
      • Hold the Word of God as our standard
      • Receive all believers, open to all genuine ministries, love all Christians, meet as generic Christians, not holding onto any special practices, ministries or non-essential teachings
    • Who We Are
      • We are a group of Christians who come from a number of different backgrounds. Our common denominator is a desire to know, love, and follow the living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His love has captured us, and in such a love we meet together with a church life according to the New Testament revelation.
      • We are families and singles. We are young and old. We are workers at a variety of jobs along with college students. We come from many countries and cherish all races. But with this variety there is a marvelous oneness of the Spirit that we strive to keep.
