"I was reared in a Christian home. When I was a small child, my grandmother read Bible stories to me. My dad taught me the hymn 'Onward Christian Soldiers'. My mother read the Bible and had prayer with me and my brother on Sunday mornings. When I was in the fourth grade, I attended a community Bible study for elementary school children. The children were usually very naughty and didn't listen; however, one time the teacher gave a very clear gospel message, and I heard it. Although I was only nine years old, I argued with her and said Jesus couldn't forgive me because I was too bad.
Somehow between the time the class let out and I got home, faith entered my heart. When I arrived at home, I told my mother Jesus died for my sins. She told me to go forward in the denomination we attended. I did. From that time on, I knew that Jesus was my Savior. However, although I continued to attend religious services, I did not grow in the Lord’s life.
Eventually I grew up, finished college and moved to another city to teach school. Because I had not grown as a Christian, I fell into an ungodly lifestyle for about five years. Because the Lord is faithful to keep His sheep, He didn’t allow me to continue in that life. He convicted me and made me feel utterly empty inside. I began to pray, 'Lord, deliver me'. He did. I had the opportunity to go forward in a Billy Graham Crusade. At that time, I prayed aloud and committed my life to Christ. After that my life changed. I began to live for Christ. I had a hunger for His Word. He led me to attend a Bible school. Since then, I have loved the Lord and fellowship with other believers who seek Him daily.

"My friend invited me to a meeting in New York City. When I heard the saints singing the hymns, God's love reached out to me. I wasn't able to hold my tears. Later, I felt that the Spirit had touched my being. I got baptized on the following Sunday. Lord to keep my heart simple, pure, true to Him always."

"After I graduated and got a job, I experienced much loneliness and emptiness. Due to my dire search for friendship and connections, the Lord opened a way that I could meet with some Christians in Pittsburgh, PA. Through them, I experienced God's love for the first time in my life. As a result of my fellowship with these people, my appetite for spiritual understanding grew deeper each time we studied the Word. I believed in Jesus Christ and was baptized on 12/3/1989. Ever since that date, I have been wanting more of Him as He has indeed proven Himself to me that only 'He is the way, the truth, and the life.' (John 14:6)"
