Church History

Church History
Our desire is to experience Christ and live the church life according to the truth revealed in the New Testament. We honor the Bible as the unique standard by which every teaching must be discerned. And, according to this guideline we appreciate teachings from many servants of Christ that God has used over the past 20 centuries. Some of these are: John Wycliffe, who boldly translated the Bible into his own language, setting a precedent for future translations: Martin Luther, who stood on the inerrant word of God, especially concerning the truth of justification by faith; John Calvin who wrote clearly concerning predestination; Nicolaus Zinzendorf who pioneered true fellowship with other believers; John Wesley who brought revival through unprecedented evangelical campaigns, J. N. Darby who enlightened us concerning the truth of God's church; A.B. Simpson who unveiled the preeminence of Christ; Andrew Murray who showed us the subjective experience of the Spirit of Christ; Watchman Nee and Witness Lee who brought us to experience a practical church life. Although we do not hold any man's teachings above the Bible, we welcome the spiritual insight that many such brethren in church history have contributed to the Body of Christ.
