klesia - Greek for assembly. The word ekklesia is Greek for church, and is composed of ek, called out, and klesia, the assembly, hence the called out ones [of God]. Before the church existed, people were just the "agora", another Greek term for a motley assembly (mob). But God called out the church for Himself. Still, 2000 years later, God is calling us out to move past our differences and focus on Christ by exalting Him above all other things.
